What Happened to Brian Williams?

Brian Williams built a distinguished career in broadcast journalism, joining NBC News in 1993 after a dozen years in local news. He quickly rose through the ranks, serving as Chief White House Correspondent and anchoring the weekend edition of "NBC Nightly News." In December 2004, he succeeded Tom Brokaw as the anchor and managing editor of "NBC Nightly News," a role he held for over a decade. Under his leadership, the program frequently became the most-watched evening newscast in the United States, and Williams earned numerous accolades, including multiple Emmy Awards, for his calm demeanor and reporting during major events like Hurricane Katrina.

Williams' career took a dramatic turn in early 2015 when it was revealed he had repeatedly embellished a story about being in a helicopter hit by RPG fire during the Iraq War in 2003.
