What Happened to Clint Harp?

Clint Harp's journey into the public eye began far from television sets and design studios. Originally working in medical sales, Harp made a pivotal decision in 2011 to leave his corporate career and pursue his lifelong passion for woodworking. This leap of faith led him and his wife, Kelly Harp, to establish Harp Design Co. in Waco, Texas, focusing on creating custom furniture from reclaimed wood.

A chance encounter at a gas station with Chip Gaines, before the massive success of 'Fixer Upper,' proved to be a defining moment. Harp quickly became a fan-favorite and the go-to carpenter for Chip and Joanna Gaines, appearing in the first five seasons of the hit HGTV show from 2013 to 2018. His authentic personality and craftsmanship resonated with viewers, leading to opportunities for his own shows on DIY Network, 'Against the Grain' (2016) and 'Wood Work' (2017), which he co-hosted with Kelly.

Following the initial run of 'Fixer Upper,' the Gaineses offered Harp his own series, 'Restoration Road With Clint Harp,' which premiered on their Magnolia Network in 2021. The show saw Harp traveling across the country, exploring and helping restore historical structures, a mission that perfectly aligned with his passion for history and craftsmanship. The series ran for five seasons, with its latest episodes released in 2024, though there have been no official reports of its cancellation.

However, by January 2023, Clint and Kelly Harp announced the difficult decision to close the storefront of Harp Design Co. They cited the demands of managing multiple businesses, raising three children, Kelly pursuing a master's degree, and Clint's television commitments as reasons for reaching their limits. This closure marked a significant shift, allowing them to focus on other endeavors.

In April 2025, Harp embarked on a new professional chapter, announcing his pivot to real estate. He partnered with the 254 Realty Group under Camille Johnson Realtors, a move he prepared for by obtaining his real estate license through an online school. He expressed that this new role aligns with his love for working with people, old and new homes, carpentry, and storytelling. As of June 2026, Clint Harp continues his work in real estate and has excitingly announced a new podcast with his wife, Kelly, titled 'Couch Pod,' which they plan to self-produce. This latest venture underscores his ongoing evolution and commitment to creative projects alongside his family.
