What Happened to Dreamfinder?

Dreamfinder was introduced to the world on March 5, 1983, as the co-host of EPCOT's original 'Journey Into Imagination' attraction, presented by Kodak. This jolly, Victorian-era-inspired scientist, voiced by Chuck McCann, was depicted as a collector of dreams and ideas, from which he created the mischievous purple dragon, Figment. The attraction, an elaborate dark ride utilizing an Omnimover system, quickly became a fan favorite and established Dreamfinder and Figment as unofficial mascots of EPCOT Center.

On August 16, 2026, at the D23 Fan Event in Anaheim, Disney officially announced the triumphant return of Dreamfinder. During the 'Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase,' executives confirmed a massive overhaul of EPCOT's Imagination pavilion, promising to blend state-of-the-art ride technology with the nostalgic storytelling of the original attraction. This announcement, which included Neil Patrick Harris appearing dressed as Dreamfinder, confirmed that Dreamfinder will be reunited with Figment, sending shockwaves of excitement through the Disney fandom.
