Jason Voorhees' journey from a tragic drowning victim to an immortal slasher icon is one of horror cinema's most enduring narratives. Born with deformities, Jason drowned at Camp Crystal Lake in 1957 due to negligent counselors, an event that propelled his mother, Pamela Voorhees, into a murderous rampage in the original 1980 film. Jason himself took over as the primary antagonist from Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) onwards, donning his signature hockey mask in Part III (1982). Furthermore, Jason Voorhees is slated to join the roster of the popular asymmetrical horror game Dead by Daylight on June 16, 2026.
