What Happened to Kouri Richins?

Kouri Richins, a Utah resident and mother of three, gained initial public attention not for crime, but for authoring a children's book on grief titled 'Are You With Me?' following the unexpected death of her husband, Eric Richins, in March 2022. However, investigations soon revealed a far darker narrative. Eric Richins, 39, was found deceased in their home, and an autopsy later confirmed his death was due to a lethal overdose of fentanyl.

Prosecutors built a case alleging Kouri Richins intentionally poisoned her husband by spiking a Moscow Mule cocktail with a fatal amount of fentanyl. Evidence presented during the trial indicated she had acquired fentanyl on multiple occasions prior to Eric's death and had allegedly attempted to poison him weeks earlier on Valentine's Day 2022.
