What Happened to Siri?

Siri's journey began not within Apple, but as a spin-off from a long-term artificial intelligence research project called CALO (Cognitive Assistant that Learns and Organizes) at SRI International, funded by the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) starting in 2003. Researchers Dag Kittlaus, Tom Gruber, and Adam Cheyer commercialized this technology, forming Siri Inc. in 2007.
