What Happened to The Hype House?

The Hype House emerged in December 2019 in Los Angeles as a groundbreaking collective of Gen Z influencers, primarily from TikTok. Co-founded by Chase Hudson (Lil Huddy), Thomas Petrou, Daisy Keech, and Alex Warren, its core idea was to bring content creators under one roof to facilitate easy collaboration and mutual audience growth. The collective quickly became a blueprint for modern content houses, attracting major stars like Charli D'Amelio, Dixie D'Amelio, and Addison Rae, and rapidly accumulating millions of followers on TikTok and Instagram.

However, internal disputes and the rapid individual growth of its members soon led to significant changes. The collective's physical presence began to wane in 2023. On April 6, 2023, Thomas Petrou announced plans to sell the mansion, though he stated the Hype House brand would continue in some form. The original Hype House era, characterized by the shared mansion and constant collaboration, officially concluded in 2024, with the final mansion being sold in August 2024. Legal battles also plagued the group, with founders like Kouvr Annon and Thomas Petrou reportedly initiating lawsuits after 2021 over profit sharing and alleged mismanagement by new leadership. Additionally, a landlord reportedly filed a lawsuit in March 2025, alleging $600,000 in damages to the property.

As of August 2026, the Hype House no longer functions as a single iconic mansion with a rotating cast of residents. Instead, the 'Hype House' brand persists through licensing and partnerships, representing an evolution from its original model. Its legacy is primarily seen in the sustained success of its former members. Alex Warren and Addison Rae, for instance, were nominated for Best New Artist at the 2026 Grammys, showcasing their successful pivot to music. Charli D'Amelio has focused on brand-building and business ventures, even appearing on Broadway in 2025, while Dixie D'Amelio continues with music, modeling, and fashion partnerships. Chase Hudson (Huddy) has remained committed to his music career, touring internationally. Thomas Petrou, a co-founder, continues to post lifestyle content and, as recently as June 2026, hinted at the possibility of 'new Hype House members,' suggesting a potential revival or reinterpretation of the collective's concept.
