However, in September 2025, Paramount Pictures secured the distribution rights as part of a new three-year deal with Legendary, and the film's release date was officially set for October 16, 2026. A trailer for the new "Street Fighter" movie was released in April 2026, generating significant buzz and hope among fans for a faithful and entertaining adaptation.
