What Happened to Timbiriche?

Timbiriche emerged in 1981 as a children's music initiative by Mexican television giant Televisa, conceived as a local counterpart to the popular Spanish group Parchís. The original lineup, debuting in April 1982, consisted of Benny Ibarra, Sasha Sokol, Diego Schoening, Alix Bauer, Paulina Rubio, and Mariana Garza, all under the age of 11. While there were earlier reports in late 2024 and early 2025 from Mariana Garza about a larger tour starting between mid-2025 and early 2026, with hopes of including Paulina Rubio and Thalía, the confirmed lineup for the June 2026 events did not include Paulina Rubio, Sasha Sokol, or Erik Rubín. Benny Ibarra also indicated in May 2026 that a full reunion was uncertain due to scheduling complexities. The four-member reunion in June 2026 was well-received, demonstrating the enduring appeal of the group. The future of a more extensive tour with additional original members for late 2026 remains a topic of speculation and negotiation among the former members.
